Sacred Journeys
A Spiritual Expedition into the Heart of the Amazon
Join us on a transformative journey through the Tapajós River Basin, where the land speaks to the heart and invites you to connect with nature and yourself. This beautiful region is home to a diverse array of flora and fauna, from pink river dolphins to giant water lilies. You will also meet the local communities, including the Munduruku people, who call the Tapajós "Ocekadi," meaning "our river, our place." Their rich traditions and stories will deepen your understanding of this sacred land.
The Tapajós River, one of the Amazon's clearwater rivers, flows from the savannas of Mato Grosso into the lush rainforest of Pará. Its clear waters and sandy beaches provide a stunning backdrop for self-discovery and spiritual growth.
With over 16 years of experience in the Amazon, I have chosen the Tapajós as the heart of our journeys because it has become a second home to me. This region is a vibrant mix of conservation and Indigenous lands, featuring over 40,000 plant species, 800 bird species, and countless other wildlife. We work alongside local communities to support sustainable projects that honor the land and its people.
Our journey begins in Santarém, where the Tapajós meets the Amazon. From here, we set out to explore the stunning landscapes while connecting with the stories and wisdom of the land. Prepare for an experience that invites you to slow down, listen, and feel the magic of the Amazon.
Join us in this heartfelt adventure, where each moment offers an opportunity for connection and growth.
Highlights of the Immersion
Opening and Closing Ceremonies with Nato Tupinambá
Our Sacred Journey begins and concludes with powerful ceremonies led by Nato Tupinambá, a shaman from Alter do Chão. This region overlaps with the ancestral lands of the Borari people, whose deep spiritual connection to the land remains strong, even as their territory awaits official recognition.
Nato possesses a profound gift of healing, which he describes as a divine grace bestowed by the creator and refined through years of communion with nature. "Nature teaches us, and our ancestors make this connection with us—a bond that is ancient and powerful," Nato explains.
As part of the ceremonies, Nato may use Rapé, a sacred plant medicine made from finely powdered Amazonian plants that he carefully prepares himself. This traditional medicine is gently blown into the nostrils, offering participants an opportunity for deep spiritual cleansing and healing. Rapé serves as a bridge between the physical and spiritual realms, aiding in grounding, mental clarity, and connection to nature.
Through these ceremonies, we are invited to pause and reconnect—with the land, the water, and our own inner selves. The opening ceremony helps set our intentions for the journey ahead, while the closing ceremony brings us full circle, reinforcing the bonds we’ve formed with each other, the earth, and our own hearts. This sacred space, held by Nato, is where transformation and healing can begin.
The Transformative Power of Cacao
Cacao, a sacred plant from the Amazon, is known for its ability to open the heart and enhance connection—both to ourselves and the Earth. It is often called the "medicine of unity," helping to create moments of deeper awareness and grounding during our journey.
Throughout our time together, we may incorporate ceremonial cacao as part of various activities, using its transformative energy to open chakras, enhance creativity, and deepen our connection with nature. Whether in a dedicated ceremony or as a gentle companion during our experiences, cacao invites us to slow down, reflect, and connect on a more profound level.
Dulce’s Garden and the Enchanted Forest Walk
The Jari Channel offers a serene journey into the Amazon's quieter side, where the rhythm of the river invites you to slow down and connect with the life around you. During the flood season, the water rises, revealing a world of floating forests, wildlife, and giant water lilies that sway gently with the current. As we navigate the canal, there’s a chance to see sloths, monkeys, and vibrant birds, with the possibility of spotting the elusive pink river dolphins.
A special part of this experience is meeting Dona Dulce, a remarkable woman who planted her own water lily garden after observing how birds and animals interacted with the plants. Dulce is known for her wisdom and her deep connection to the land, as well as for creating delicious treats from the water lily, such as tempura and unique Amazonian snacks. Meeting her is a heartfelt experience, where you get to witness how nature inspires her creations and her life.
After visiting Dulce, we will walk the Enchanted Trail, a path that winds through the backyard of a local family. Here, you’ll experience their bond with the land while seeing sloths, birds, and playful monkeys along the way. This is a time to immerse yourself in the quiet magic of the forest and feel the connection between people, animals, and the Earth.
Silent Journey Through FLONA: Listening to the Forest’s Wisdom
In the heart of the Tapajós National Forest (FLONA), we offer two unique opportunities to immerse yourself in the Amazon’s sacred landscape, where the forest becomes a space for inner reflection and connection. Both experiences invite you to walk in silence, allowing the forest to guide you into deeper awareness and presence.
Option 1: Silent Trail at Jamaraquá
This 5-mile trail through Jamaraquá is a peaceful, meditative journey where the forest speaks through its gentle sounds and vibrant life. Walking in silence, guided by local community members, you’ll find yourself attuned to the subtle rhythms of the Amazon. The trail ends at a crystal-clear stream, where the cool waters invite you to take a forest bath, a moment of renewal and gratitude surrounded by the energy of the forest.
Option 2: Silent Trail at Maguary with an Overnight Experience
For those seeking a more immersive adventure, the 9-mile silent trail at Maguary offers a deeper connection to the wild. This journey can be extended into a two-day experience, where you’ll have the rare opportunity to sleep under the Amazonian canopy. As the forest breathes around you, the silence of the night becomes a powerful space for reflection. The trek concludes with a meeting of the ancient Samaúma tree, a majestic symbol of the Amazon, where the presence of this giant deepens your connection to the land and yourself.
Sacred Fire Ceremony with the Munduruku: Guardians of the Forest and Water
The Munduruku people, renowned as guardians of the Tapajós region, invite us to partake in a profound experience of connection and preservation. This visit takes us beyond the physical landscape into the heart of their spiritual relationship with the forest and rivers they fiercely protect.
Sacred Fire Ceremony
At the heart of this experience is the sacred fire ceremony, a powerful ritual led by the Munduruku elders. Gathered around the fire, you’ll be invited into a space of deep reverence for the elements, as the flames carry prayers and offerings to the spirits of the forest. This ceremony is a moment to honor the wisdom of the ancestors, the strength of the community, and the balance between humans and nature. It serves as a reminder of our interconnectedness with the land and our shared responsibility to protect it.
Immersing in Munduruku Life
During your visit to the village of Bragança, home to 23 Munduruku families, you'll gain insight into their daily lives and their deep commitment to conservation. The community leads two significant initiatives: the Water Guardians and Forest Guardians projects, both focused on safeguarding the region’s water sources and forest ecosystems. Through this collaboration, you’ll learn how they practice sustainable living and protect the biodiversity of the Amazon.
This experience is not just about witnessing their traditions but engaging in a meaningful exchange that honors the Munduruku's enduring connection to their ancestral lands. By joining this journey, you contribute to their ongoing efforts to protect the Amazon and its delicate balance between culture and nature.
Sacred Exploration of the Arapiuns River and Connection with the Coroca Community
On this sacred journey, we are invited to experience the tranquil waters of the Arapiuns River, a hidden sanctuary in the Amazon. With its crystal-clear waters and white sand beaches, this peaceful haven is perfect for practicing meditation, mindfulness, and deep reflection. As you immerse yourself in the stillness of the river, the surrounding rainforest offers a space for spiritual renewal and connection with nature.
Meeting the Coroca Community: A Spiritual Exchange
Our journey continues with a visit to the Coroca Community, where the true magic lies in the connections we form with the people who live in harmony with the land. This community thrives on collective unity and sustainable practices, passing down their wisdom through generations. During our time with them, we have the opportunity to engage in meaningful exchange, learning about their way of life, their spiritual connection to the environment, and how they protect the sacred balance between people and nature.
In this sacred space, we come together to practice mindfulness, reflect on our bond with the earth, and immerse ourselves in the energy of the community—a transformative experience of unity, peace, and shared purpose.

Originating in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Pirarimbó was conceived as a safe, intimate gathering that allowed participants to connect deeply with the culture of the forest, away from crowds. Set against the backdrop of the Tapajós River or Lago Verde, this celebration often takes place under the full moon or a sky filled with stars, transporting participants to a time when life was simpler, and nature and ancestry were in perfect harmony.
